Victoria Street played host to Lunar New Year celebrations on Sunday.
Our office is within walking distance of Victoria Street and we saw advertisements for the festival earlier this month. As a result, we decided to check it out.
The festival attracts around 100,000 people. A section of Victoria Street is closed off, and there are numerous stalls that span the width of the thoroughfare.
Street food and drinks from various cultures are sold, as well as souvenirs and merchandise. Live entertainment was also on offer, with performances from musical acts, lion dancers and local groups.
The Victoria Street Gateway, a sculpture on the corner of Victoria and Hoddle Streets, was installed just in time for the festival and added to the multicultural atmosphere.
The festival provided some great opportunities for photos and we thought we would share some highlights.
