Melbourne Women’s Fund Anniversary Celebration

By Advice for Not-for-profit Organisations and Charities No Comments

Melbourne Women’s Fund provides the opportunity for women to undertake collective giving, where funding is donated to organisations that support women and families.

This evening I attended the anniversary of the Melbourne Women’s Fund, celebrating its first year of operations. The Fund enables individuals who share a common passion for particular causes to have a greater collective impact through donations and support.

The Anniversary Celebrations provided the opportunity to reflect on this impact and to meet key supporters.  Philanthropy remains a significant contributor to the funding of charities and it is great to see the success of the Melbourne Women’s’ Fund.

Business Network Team – discussing the need to re-imagine marketing

By Advice for Businesses No Comments

The Business Network Team is a Port Melbourne based networking group that meets each Wednesday morning. The group fosters discussion between businesses and encouraging referrals and business collaboration.

This morning I was invited to discuss the Syneka Marketing and our strategic approach that is designed to align business goals with marketing outcomes. I outlined the need to re-define the common perception of marketing, to ensure that value creation is at the forefront. A value creation approach ensures that marketing achieves its purpose in growing the capacity of a business.

A strategic approach to marketing enables a business to identify the marketing activities that add value, and measure outcomes on an ongoing basis. All marketing can be measured and a strategic approach ensures that the right metrics are being to measure effectiveness.

The Business Network Team meets each Wednesday at 8.30 am in Port Melbourne.
