The Launch of the 2016 Australian Marketing Institute Event Series

The Australian Marketing Institute is the professional organisation representing the marketing profession. Tonight we officially launched our event series for 2016, highlighting key events that will strengthen the marketing profession.

Our professional development series, consisting of webinars, is being complemented with breakfast educational events, providing the ability to explore topics in further detail. Emerging Marketers, connecting new marketers with experienced professionals will be returning from May, providing the ability to share skills and knowledge within the profession.

Tonight’s launch coincided with a networking evening, showcasing partners of the Australian Marketing Institute, as well as the ability to engage new and current members. The aim is to continue a series of events throughout this year to foster connections between members, as we work towards strengthening the marketing profession.

The 2016 Awards for Marketing Excellence will be opening on the 7th of March with an expanded set of categories to further showcase the marketing profession.

The Melbourne Business Network held its final event for 2015 in the form of a Xmas breakfast.

The breakfast was held at La Vita Buona in the Melbourne CBD. The event featured speakers, as well as the opportunity to network with other members.

Throughout the year we have attended various Melbourne Business Network events. These events have provided us with the opportunity to connect with a diverse range of businesses and hear of their marketing challenges.

We look forward to what the Melbourne Business Network event calendar holds in 2016.

20th Man Fund Breakfast with Harold Mitchell

The 20th Man Fund is a not-for-profit organisation founded by Les Twentyman, providing support to young people who face homelessness and disadvantage. The organisation holds breakfast events to raise awareness and to promote its work.

This event was the second that I attended with Harold Mitchell as a keynote speaker. In addition to his work in advertising Harold is also a philanthropist. At this event Harold spoke about his humble beginnings, including facing major life challenges, and the need to support young people to provide them with opportunities to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Les Twentyman also spoke at the event, with the event being part fundraiser for the organisation. We wish the 20th Man Fund the best for 2016.

Business over Breakfast – Continuing as Acting Chair

Business over Breakfast meets each fortnight at the Docklands, with businesses being able to build rapport between and expand their networks.

I continued my role as the Acting Chair for today’s session where I encouraged participants to discuss their ideal clients and potential opportunities for collaboration.  The discussion helped attendees identify their target markets and unique value proposition.

Beyond the Business Card Breakfast – Significant Women’s Network Event

The Significant Women’s Network holds a series of events each year called Beyond The Business Card. The aim of these events is to bring together 10-12 participants in a private setting so that meaningful connections can be formed.

I attended a Beyond The Business Card Breakfast that was held at The Deli Counter. The event provides women who currently hold senior or executive level roles with the opportunity to meet like-minded professionals and learn more about one another.

The event was complemented by a diverse and unique spread of breakfast items. The Significant Women’s Network will be holding further Beyond The Business Card sessions over the coming months, events are held either over breakfast or lunch.
