This evening I attended a crowd funding workshop hosted by Pozible. Pozible is an Australian made crowdfunding tool that assists individuals, businesses and not-for-profit organisations the ability to implement their crowd funding campaigns.
Encouragingly there was a strong emphasis on planning a campaign prior to setting crowd funding parameters. Crowd funding needs to be implemented in the context of your overall strategic approach, ensuring that you identify who you need to reach and why they should contribute to your campaign.
Also remember that crowd funding is one aspect of a funding campaign and that other tools should be used in conjunction to maximise contributions. Also explore how you can foster ongoing engagement with your contributors, so they can see the impact of their contribution.
Crowd funding, like many other tools, can be an extremely useful tool, if used in conjunction with a strategic marketing approach.
