The Rotary Club of Fern Tree Gully is the latest Rotary Club in District 9810 to develop a website with the aim of promoting the Club’s activities and encouraging new membership.
Rotary is a service Club, which utilises the skills of its members to deliver projects to the community. As part of my involvement in Rotary I prepared the design for District 9810, which covers Melbourne’s eastern and south-eastern suburbs.
The template was designed to provide a consistent and unified image for Rotary while also enabling individual clubs to adapt the appearance to their own individual needs. Currently District 9810, as well as the Rotary Clubs of Warrandyte Donvale, Montrose and District and Ringwood utilise this template.

The Rotary Club of Fern Tree Gully Website
The Rotary Club of Fern Tree Gully now joins these Clubs in utilising the District 9810 template, while also ensuring that the website meets their own individual needs. For example, the Rotary Club of Fern Tree Gully is designed with a green colouring scheme to reflect the Club’s logo and surrounds.
In addition, the site has been designed to incorporate photo albums of Club activities, as well as a member-only area to distribute internal information. Club Bulletins will be archived through the website and upcoming events and club meetings are available through a calendar.
The Rotary Club of Fern Tree Gully highlights how individual Clubs can maintain their individual identities and needs while still maintaining a consistent Rotary image. The Rotary Club of Fern Tree Gully website is available at www.ferntreegullyrotary.org.au.
Interesting information, thank you for sharing branding information for Rotary Clubs.
Thanks Brendan. While Rotary Clubs are largely autonomous there is a definite need to ensure consistency with branding and messages. The website templates help to create a consistent image while providing opportunities to reflect the individuality of each Club.

You designed this Rotary site? Pretty good job!
Kelvin, thanks for your feedback and comments. We’ve prepared a template for Rotary Clubs in District 9810 to provide a cohesive image for Rotary while also respecting the individuality of each Club.
We’ve seen several Rotary Clubs use the new template and we’re hoping that more will follow in 2012.
