Like other community organisations, Eastern Volunteers is required to hold an Annual General Meeting to nominate Board Members and executive positions, such as the Chair, Deputy Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. Today’s Annual General Meeting nominated board members, as well as updated EV members on highlights over the past twelve months, including the Annual Fun Run, the second Volunteer Conference and the Multicultural Spring Festival.
These events have assisted Eastern Volunteers in raising its profile within the community and demonstrating the capabilities of the organisation. This has culminated in a partnership with the Maroondah Leader to highlight volunteering roles that exist within the community.
Eastern Volunteers has also advanced its goals of purchasing an accessible premises, with $20,000 raised to assist in fitting out the groundfloor location at 1/36 New Street Ringwood. The Chairman, Terry Macdonald, presented certificates to contributors that donated at least $500 towards the building fund.
Donors that contribute at least $500 will receive a jigsaw piece from a jigsaw mosaic of the building once Eastern Volunteers moves to its new location in 2012.
Syneka donated $500 to the Eastern Volunteers Building Fund Campaign and is pleased to be able to support Eastern Volunteers and the services the organisation provides to the community.
