This morning I participated in the Eastern Volunteers Business Booster Breakfast, an event that aims to connect businesses with the community.
This morning’s speaker was Brooke Miller, the General Manager of Elite Customer Solutions. Elite is the Business Service Centre for BP and provides services across finance, sales and marketing and logistics with a staff of approximately 400 employees.
Elite has a very strong commitment to Diversity and Inclusion which is highlighted each year through a Community Week program which engages every Elite employee.
Local organisations, such as Monkami and Melba are some of the organisations that have benefited from Elite’s participation in the community.
Brooke also explained how the Community Week program also benefits the employees of Elite who are able to develop new connections, as well as develop as a team. The Community Week program is extremely popular with staff with almost every employee participating in the volunteer projects.
Brooke’s presentation was extremely insightful and demonstrates how businesses can partner with community organisations to receive mutual benefit.
