Eastern Volunteers has recently purchased a building, enabling the community organisation to move to the ground floor providing an accessible and prominent location. The organisation now faces the challenge of raising $60,000 to aid in meeting the costs of relocation, including partitioning, furniture and cabling.
The community is encouraged to support Eastern Volunteers through the Building Fund Campaign by providing tax-deductible donations. The Campaign will officially be launched on the 21st of July but this morning I was speaking to Radio Eastern FM (98.1 FM) to discuss the upcoming launch.
When planning a community based campaign it is important to reach as many members of the community as possible and local radio can often help in this regard. Eastern FM has a loyal listening base across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs covering a similar demographic to Eastern Volunteers.
The interview discussed the services provided by Eastern Volunteers through its volunteer assisted transport service and volunteer recruitment. As part of this interview I explained the transient history of Eastern Volunteers and how the property will deliver a permanent community facility serving Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
I also outlined the $60,000 fundraising target and how this will fund the relocation and establish a long-term future of Eastern Volunteers. All donations are tax-deductible and can be made online at www.easternvolunteers.org.au/buildingfund or via cheque or money order.
